First Award To Protege

MAZDA'S new 323 Protege has won its first major award, winning the Small Car section of the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria's Best Buy Awards.

The award judges chose the Mazda for its refined driving performance, improved engine flexibility and responsive handling.

A FERRARI 550 Maranello fitted with Michelin tyres has smashed three existing speed records on the American Transportation Research Centre's oval track.

The Ferrari, driven by Duillio Truffo, averaged 304.138kmh over 100km, 306.037kmh over 100 miles (161km) and travelled a record 296.406km in an hour.

The previous records, set by a prototype Chevrolet Corvette, were 278.156kmh, 282.592kmh and 280.835km respectively.

SEAT has rewarded one of its buyers with a trip to this weekend's API Rally Australia in Perth, WA.
